Absolute Radio counts down from Olympic village

Absolute Radio’s breakfast show is coming live from the London 2012 Olympic village this morning as part of the celebrations to mark ‘one year to go’ until the start of the games.

Russ Williams is presenting a special show from Stratford, which will include interviews with London Mayor Boris Johnson and Olympic legend Seb Coe.

Absolute are also giving away tickets for London 2012 all day as part of the station tie-up with Lloyds TSB who are one of the official partners of the Olympics. The bank have also organised for the Olympic torch to be delivered to site by one of their local heroes, 17 year old Jordan Dalrymple, an Olympic volleyball hopeful.
Commercial Director Chris Goldson told us: “We’re thrilled to be part of the ‘One Year to Go’ Campaign, and it’s equally exciting to be able to showcase Lloyds TSB as an official London 2012 partner on our station. It’s a genuine honour for us to be playing such a high profile role in the day’s celebrations at the Olympic site itself.”
